Ok, it is not really day one. It's really day 3 if you started this week on Monday. We are having some learning curves and small hurdles. In this blog I hope to shed light on some of the details of Gmail.
I've explained this to several people, but it is worth repeating. Gmail thinks about email differently than outlook. The biggest thing is that Gmail says here is a big bucket and lets put all mail in that bucket. Using Gmail, we can put on labels and that helps us get organized. Office staff are all using Outlook as the main email tool. Outlook is what we are used to. Outlook says let's have an inbox, but let us also have folders. Labels are like folders, but there are some differences.
This article is good at explaining the two: https://askleo.com/how-do-gmail-labels-relate-to-folders/
I got a little ahead of myself. I've reviewed this with most or all of the office staff. Our 'new' email system is using Google G-Suite/Gmail. And the email will sync across any device or app or program that checks your email. Google handles a lot of the behind the scenes stuff, including making our email more deliverable (fewer bounce backs or marked as spam). With G-Suite, our email, calendars and contacts are now synced.
I already sent this to you, but i'm going to make it available here. A review of how email is synced and examples of synced folders. EMAIL 101
